God's Immeasurable Power
I pray that the eyes of your heart may be enlightened in order that you may know… what is the immeasurable greatness of his power toward us who believe, according to the working of his great might he exerted when he raised Christ from the dead and seated him at his right hand in the heavenly realms… Ephesians 1:18-20
We hope you are doing well today. We are excited to unpack more of this apostolic prayer.
This part of Paul’s prayer shows God’s heart for believer’s to understand the great hope and overcoming power that comes from living in the reality that Christ has been raised from the dead and has ascended to sit at God’s right hand in the heavenly realms.
Take a moment to think about these things. Jesus Christ died a physically brutal death on a cross. He was wrapped in burial cloth and buried inside a tomb that was covered and sealed by a giant stone. That stone-sealed tomb was being watched day and night by armed guards who were prepared to stop anyone who might try and steal the body from inside the tomb. But no earthly obstacles could stop the great might God exerted when he raised Christ from the dead.
Paul is praying believers hearts would be enlightened to know and understand that the great power which overcame every obstacle to raise Christ from the dead, is the same power that is at work toward and in us who believe.
The more light and understanding you have in your heart, the more you can know, resolve and solidify the great and awesome power that God has available for you. As you grow in understanding God’s power that raised Christ from the dead, and also grow in understanding that the same power that raised him is available for everything you are experiencing, you can overcome every obstacle in your path through faith.
Not only does God’s power give you the might to overcome every obstacle and situation in life, his power is also able to sanctify and transform you from the inside out so you continually look more like Christ himself.
We encourage you to continually go deeper in your prayer life through fellowshipping with God around his awesome resurrection power that he demonstrated through Christ, and wants to demonstrate in and toward you.
