Remaining In His Love

“We have come to know and rely on the love that God has for us. God is love, and whoever lives in love lives in God and God lives in him.”

1 John 4:16

It’s not very common for people to talk about the importance of intentionally receiving God’s love. This can seem way too simple, but it is vital if you want to live out of a place of intimacy and powerful breakthrough.

Why is it so important to receive God’s love intentionally?

Because mankind was originally designed to be in God’s love. It was through Adam’s sin that mankind was separated from fellowship with that love. This tragically resulted in people looking for love in all of the wrong places, which produced nothing but heartbreak, disappointment, frustration, anger, pain, pride and hurt. Only when we receive God’s love can our original design to become love to all people be actualized and fulfilled. We only love because he first loved us.

“As the Father has loved me, so have I loved you. Now remain in my love.”
John 15:9

The schemes of the Devil and the distractions of this world try every possible way to steal God’s children away from the simplicity of a love relationship with Jesus. Praise God you are reading this and he is revealing even more the importance of his love. Here are a few more practical ways you can receive from Jesus’ love:

    1.    Sit quietly before the Lord and receive his love by simply saying, “I receive your love.” (Not in a mantra fashion, but in sincerity.) 


    2.    Joyfully confess to the Lord all of the people whom you have sought love from to satisfy you apart from him, and intentionally turn your heart to receive and be satisfied in Christ’s love. 


    3.    Meditate on Jesus’ heart to willingly endure such pain and suffering out of love to restore us back to right relationship with God.
