Growing In God's Promises
Whenever life is viewed through the lens of lack, it can result in being trapped in a mindset that only sees what is perceived to be lacking.
Imagine if Abraham only focused on the fact that Sarah was barren when he was waiting for the son God had promised him. There was plenty of temptations to think of the lack. In fact, they did fall into trying to do it their own way, but after that, Abraham chose to focus on God’s promise and not what he could not see. That’s why the New Testament records,
Without weakening in his faith, he faced the fact that his body was as good as dead—since he was about a hundred years old—and that Sarah’s womb was also dead. Yet he did not waver through unbelief regarding the promise of God, but was strengthened in his faith and gave glory to God, being fully persuaded that God had power to do what he had promised. Romans 4:19-21
Whenever faced with temptations to focus on lack, you can choose to see that as an opportunity to intentionally turn your focus to stand on the promises of God. Whenever you have a thought of lack you can turn your heart and mind to whatever is true, right and worthy of praise and declare out loud God’s Word no matter how much feelings or circumstances try to say otherwise.
We pray that you would be strengthened to walk free from any bondages of lack and see clearer the promises of God’s Word so that you never lose hope.
His divine power has given us everything we need for a godly life through our knowledge of him who called us by his own glory and goodness. 2 Peter 1:3
