More Than Enough
Seek first the kingdom of God and his righteousness, and all these things will be added to you. Matthew 6:33
The natural mindset of the flesh lives by what it can see, and not by faith. This results in temptations to lack whenever what is needed is not immediately seen or accessible – for the mindset of the flesh is death… (Rom. 8:6a) The mindset of the Spirit is one that knows there is always enough because God is never lacking in power or provision, and he who did not spare his own Son will graciously give us all things along with him – the mindset of the Spirit is life and peace. (Rom. 8:6b)
Often times, one might be tempted to look at what they have, and think “it’s not enough”. However, God is not looking for what people don’t have, but rather for them to offer in faith what they do have. Like Scripture says,
For if the willingness is there, the gift is acceptable according to what a person has, not according to what he does not have. 2 Corinthians 8:12
Whenever we choose to turn our mindset away from lack and offer in faith what we do have, God is always able to multiply and provide more than enough.
These truths should help to eliminate the mindset of lack in our walk with Christ…
- God always has more than enough. (Ps. 24:1)
- All of his promises are “yes” in Christ to the believer. (2 Cor. 1:20)
- He is able to multiply what we offer in faith. (2 Cor. 9:10)
It’s important to train our minds to live in faith and diligently focus on how God has already given his Son to meet our greatest and deepest need. How will he not also fulfill his promise to give us everything else we need through faith in him?
