Steadfast On Him
You will keep the mind that is dependent on You in perfect peace, for it is trusting in You. Isaiah 26:3
We recognize that disappointments are real and that every situation is unique. However, in our writing, we want to focus on developing a lifestyle of being free from disappointments that come from unhealthy expectations. This is possible by depending on the Spirit of God and finding total satisfaction in the Lord.
There is a difference between healthy and unhealthy expectations, but no matter what, we all are called to be a product of Christ and not the shortcomings of others. What he has done for us should always be more important than what anyone else could do or not do.
Often times, people do not realize that they’ve put expectations on family, friends, people around them, etc. This can happen when one forgets to look to God for their total joy and satisfaction. In the next few e-mails we’re going to be sharing some practical ways to find satisfaction in God and overcome disappointments.
This topic may seem difficult or even impossible for some people, but if you feel that way, we encourage you that through what Christ has done, he has made this available for us.
Join us in praying,
“Father God, I thank you that you can satisfy and fulfill all of my needs. I ask you to help me have faith and believe that you can give me strength to change, grow and overcome. In Jesus name, amen.”
