Un-Offendable Heart - Part 2

godly perspectives

Here is an insight into Jesus’ perspective in laying down his life. Understanding this has played a big part in the transformation we’ve experienced.

Jesus said,

“For I have come down from heaven, not to do My own will, but to do the will of Him who sent Me.”
John 6:38

When we talk about Jesus’ perspective in laying down his life, it has to be understood that Jesus knew he did not come to earth to do his own will.

Jesus had a deep devotion to his Father that empowered him to desire God’s will at any cost. As he stayed his mind upon that, he never sinned or became selfish because of what others did or said. Whatever ways they treated him were not more important than being obedient to the Father who is greatly pleased with him, dearly loves him and completely accepts him.

“The reason my Father loves me is that I lay down my life–only to take it up again.”
John 10:17

From this verse we can see that Jesus acknowledges and receives the love the Father has for him. Jesus knew that laying down his life would remove sin and taking it back up again would restore right relationship with God for all who believe.

“He was handed over to die because of our sins, and he was raised to life to make us right with God.”
Romans 4:25

The greater joy and hope of obedience to the Father, and restoring people back to their original value and design burned in Jesus through the power of the Holy Spirit and strengthened his perspective.

Now through him, you can live obediently and be used to bring people back to the One who will save them. However, in the process you also must not be offended by what others do so as to be distracted and get off course. You must rely on the Holy Spirit and “Let this mind be in you which was also in Christ Jesus” (Phil. 2:5)
